Avrusing frå alkohol

Avrusning frå alkohol bør skje på institusjon når det er fare for alvorlege avrusingsreaksjonar, når du tidlegare har hatt delirium tremens (akutt forvirring utløyst av alkoholabstinens) eller abstinenskramper. Det er også tilrådeleg viss du har samtidige alvorlege somatiske eller psykiske helseproblem, andre kompliserande tilstandar (som graviditet) og viss du har avhengigheit av fleire rusmiddel eller blandingsmisbruk.

Avrusing på institusjon inneberer medikamentelle, medisinske, miljøterapeutiske og sosiale tiltak for å hjelpe deg å kome gjennom avrusings- og abstinensfasen. Du får tilbod om opphald i eit skjerma miljø med individuelle tiltak for akkurat din tilstand.

Før

Du bør lage deg ei oversikt over alkoholforbruket ditt den siste tida, slik at dei medisinske og miljøterapeutiske tiltaka kan tilpassast behovet ditt best mogleg. Dersom du har erfaringar med avrusing frå tidlegare, og veit kva som fungerer for deg, bør du informere behandlaren din om dette.  Det er viktig at du seier ifrå om eventuelle episodar med forvirring eller kramper under avrusing, då dette auker faren for at det kan skje igjen. Du vil få behandling for å førebygge dette.

Vi vil ta kontakt med fastlegen din/tilvisar, men vi vil at du informerer oss om kroppslege eller psykiske plager du ønsker at vi skal vete om eller forsøke å hjelpe deg med.

Mange gruer seg til avrusinga og slit med eigenmotivasjonen før innlegginga. Dette er noko vi kan hjelpe deg med om du seier ifrå om dette.

I innkallingsbrevet står det informasjon om stad og tidspunkt for oppmøte til innlegging. Nyleg inntak av rusmiddel er inga hindring for å møte til avtalt tidspunkt. Vi kan ta i mot deg i den forma du er.

Når du kjem til avdelinga blir du tatt imot av helsepersonell, og du blir undersøkt av lege. Du blir bedt om å avgi promilletest (blåsetest).

For å førebygge faren for utvikling av Wernickes encefalopati, som kan oppstå som følge av mangel på tiamin (vitamin B),  vil du få tilbod om B- vitamininjeksjonar dei første dagane. Vi anbefaler sterkt at du tar imot dette.  Vi vil i den første tida måle puls og blodtrykk, og sjekke andre symptom på abstinensar, slik at du kan få rett medisinsk behandling og for å førebygge komplikasjonar.

Viss du er i fare for å utvikle kramper, vil du få medisin som førebygger dette. Nok søvn og mat er viktig for at du skal kome best mogleg gjennom denne fasen. Du opphalder deg på rommet og blir oppfordra til å sove mykje dei første dagane. På generell basis varer denne fasen ca ei veke.

Etter

Avrusing er som regel den første delen av eit lengre behandlingsforløp. Eventuell oppfølging etter opphaldet vil anten avklarast før du kjem eller i løpet av behandlinga.

Vi kommuniserer med fastlege og eventuelle andre som skal følgje deg etter behandlinga. Det kan for eksempel vere kommunal oppfølgingsteneste, legemiddelassistert rehabilitering (LAR), apotek, ruskonsulent, rusteam og liknande.

Informasjon blir kun videresendt til andre instansar med tillating frå deg.

Vi kan formidle kontakt med likemannstiltak og andre tilbod som kan vere til støtte for deg etter behandlinga som Anonyme alkoholikere (AA), Anonyme narkomane (NA) og liknande.

    The multi-storey car park north of the hospital is reserved for patients and visitors. You must pay a fee to park. 

    You can pay by cash or card at the parking machines, or by using the EasyPark app.

    There is no number plate recognition at the car park. You must start and stop your parking session yourself using the EasyPark app. 

    Prices

    The parking fee is NOK 25 per hour. The maximum daily rate is NOK 155.

    Haugesund Parkering Drift AS is responsible for managing the car park and the parking areas in front of the main entrance. Any complaints regarding parking fees should be directed to them. Information is available on the parking machines.

    Electric vehicle charging

    There are three charging points available for electric vehicles. 

    Reserved parking

    Reserved spaces for disabled parking are located outside the main entrance. Please remember to place the parking permit clearly visible in the windscreen. 

    There are reserved spaces for blood donors and dialysis patients in the multi-storey car park. These are marked with dedicated signs. If you are entitled to use these spaces, you will be issued with a parking permit by the department where you receive treatment.

    We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.

    Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.

    Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.

    Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.

    Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.

    Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care. 

    The hospital grounds are smoke-free.

    Inpatients who require nicotine products can contact the healthcare staff on their ward.

    Kystbussen has a terminal in Leirvik town centre. See NOR-WAY Bussekspress | Kystbussen for route information. From there, local busses run to the hospital and the DPS. Further information about local bus timetables is available at Skyss.no/en.

    Praktisk informasjon

    There is no public pharmacy at the hospital, but there are several pharmacies in and around Leirvik town centre.

    The nearest grocery store is Spar Ådland, Olvikvegen 52, 5416 Stord. It is 1.5 kilometers by car, or a 500 meter walk via the pedestrian path behind the ambulance station.

    Cafeteria

    The public cafeteria is located on the lower ground floor.

    Monday-Friday: 11:00-14:00.

    It is closed at weekends and on public holidays.
