Søvnregistrering (polygrafi)

Søvnregistrering blir brukt til utgreiing av obstruktiv søvnapné, som er ein sjukdom der personen opplever hyppige pustestoppar på meir enn 10 sekund. Korte pustepausar under søvn er nokså vanlege. Det er varigheita på pustestoppet og talet på pustestoppar i løpet av natta som definerer om det er snakk om sjukdom.

Før

Du skal ta faste medisinar som vanleg. Du kan ete og drikke som normalt før og under søvnregistreringa.

Under

Vi registrerer data frå søvnen din via avansert teknologi. Dette måler søvn, søvnkvalitet og lydstyrke (desibel) på snorkelydar. I tillegg registrerer det luftstraum gjennom nasen, rørsle i bryst og mage, kroppsstilling og aktivitet, i tillegg til puls og oksygenmetting.

Apparatet skal festast på denne måten når du skal sove:

  • elastiske band rundt mage og bryst
  • to klyper på T-skjorta
  • éin sensor på éin finger
  • éin nasegrime rundt øyra og inn i nasen

Undersøkinga gir ingen smerter, men nokon synest at nasegrimen er ubehageleg.

Neste morgon koplar du deg frå apparatet og leverer utstyret tilbake til sjukehuset.

Svaret blir vurdert av ein lege og du får resultata på ein planlagd time ved poliklinikken.

I nokre tilfelle er det nødvendig å gjennomføre ei ny søvnregistrering.

Patients who require overnight accommodation can call our contact centre by phone on 52 73 90 00. Please notify us well in advance.

Hospital hostel

We can offer simply furnished rooms in our hostel, located about 50 metres from the hospital. The room has a direct telephone connection to the surgical monitoring station and also includes an extra bed if you are accompanied by a relative.

The hostel has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. If you require an evening meal, this must be brought with you.

Keys can be collected from the reception desk, located next to the main entrance on the ground floor of the hospital. The reception is staffed from 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. If you arrive after 18:00, please ring the doorbell and a member of our staff will assist you.

You will receive an invoice for your stay at the hostel.

Please display your parking permit clearly.

Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.

Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.

Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.

Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.

Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care. 

If you have been instructed to have blood tests taken, you can go to the laboratory on the lower ground floor (basement level) at Odda Hospital.

Some patients are prioritised for blood sampling, and we ask for your understanding.

The cafeteria is located on the lower ground floor (U1).

It is not permitted to take photos or videos of other patients or hospital staff. Photos or videos must not be shared on social media without the consent of those shown. 

We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.

Free wireless internet is available for patients, next of kin and visitors.
