Nesepolypper og/eller biholebetennelse, operasjon

Målet med operasjonen er å opne opp slik at nase og biholer blir ventilert. Du vil puste betre med nasen, det blir mindre snørr og slim, presset i biholene blir mindre og for ein del pasientar blir luktesansen betre. I tillegg får du mindre plager med biholebetennelsar. Dei fleste vil merke forventa effekt av inngrepet allereie etter 2-4 veker.

Biholebetennelse kan vere svært smertefullt, men går ofte over av seg sjølv. Dersom symptoma ikkje forsvinn, finst det behandling som hjelper.

Før

​​Faste

Før operasjonen/undersøkinga må du faste. Dersom du ikkje møter fastande, kan det hende vi må avlyse/utsetje timen.

De siste 6 timane før operasjon/undersøking skal du ikkje ete mat eller drikke mjølk/mjølkeprodukt. De siste 2 timane skal du unngå tyggegummi, drops, snus og røyk. Fram til 2 timer før kan du drikke klare væsker: Vatn, saft, juice utan fruktkjøt, brus, te og kaffi utan mjølk. Du kan svelge medisinar med eit lite glas vatn inntil 1 time før, og pusse tenner og skylje munnen når som helst.

  • Mat og mjølk/mjølkeprodukt: Skal stoppast 6 timer før
  • Klare væsker, tyggegummi, drops, røyk og snus: Skal stoppast 2 timer før

Dersom du likevel har ete eller drukke utanom dei tidene som står her må personalet få vite det.

Før enkelte inngrep skal du drikke ein bestemt mengde næringsdrikk.Det får du i så fall beskjed om. 

 

Dersom operasjonen gjerast med lokalbedøving treng du ikkje å faste. Tannpuss utførast på vanleg måte. 

Under

Under inngrepet bruker kirurgen eit endoskop. Det er eit liten røyr med ei forstørrande linse eller kamera. Kirurgen sett endoskopet inni eit nasebor, fører det mot opningen til biholene og vidare til området med eventuelle polyppar. Det blir brukt små instrument for å fjerne bein, slimhinne/polyppar og andre hindringar som blokkerer biholene. 

Operasjonen tek vanlegvis mellom 1-2 timar og du blir observert i ca. 2 timar etterpå. Du kan vanlegvis reise heim same dag som du er operert. 

Etter

Dei fleste som blir operert for nasepolyppar og/eller kronisk biholebetennelse vil ha ein liten tampong i eit eller begge nasebor når de vaknar. Tampongane blir fjerna på første kontroll etter operasjonen. Vanlegvis er det dette etter mellom to til fem dagar. I nokre tilfelle blir det brukt tampongar som løyser seg opp sjølv. Desse treng ein ikkje fjerne manuelt. 

Etter operasjonen må du sørge for å ha transport heim. Du kan ikkje køyre bil sjølv denne dagen. 

Sjukmeldingstida er vanlegvis mellom ca. 5 -10 dagar, men kan variere ut frå kva jobb du har.

Ver merksemd 
Komplikasjonar hender sjeldan. Det er normalt dei første tolv dagane etter operasjonen at ein kan blø litt frå nasen. Ein av 100  pasientar kan få større blødingar. Ta kontakt med sjukehuset om blødingen ikkje stoppar.

Infeksjon er sjeldan men kan hende hos ca. 2-5 % av pasientane. Symptoma på infeksjon er aukande smerte, hevelse og feber. Det kan kjennast ut som ein akutt biholebetennelse.

Svært sjeldan oppstår det  endringar på synet eller skade på auga i forbindelse med operasjonen. Fordi biholene ligg svært nær hjerne kan det skje ein lekkasje av hjernevæske. Om det skulle skje må du ha ein ny operasjon for å lukke lekkasjen.

Haugesund: ØNH-avdelinga og høyrselsentralen held til i 1. etasje ved Haugesund sjukehus. Bruk hovudinngangen og gå forbi resepsjonen og sjukehusapoteket. Du finn oss i enden av korridoren.

Stord: Høyrselsentralen ligg i 1. etasje i den kvite bygningen ved sida av hovudbygget.

Odda: ØNH-poliklinikken ligg i 1. etasje på Odda sjukehus. Poliklinikken har eige venterom.

Ved tilpassing av høyreapparat, anbefaler vi at pasienten har med seg følge/pårørande.

Praktisk informasjon

Patients who require overnight accommodation can call our contact centre by phone on 52 73 90 00. Please notify us well in advance.

Hospital hostel

We can offer simply furnished rooms in our hostel, located about 50 metres from the hospital. The room has a direct telephone connection to the surgical monitoring station and also includes an extra bed if you are accompanied by a relative.

The hostel has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. If you require an evening meal, this must be brought with you.

Keys can be collected from the reception desk, located next to the main entrance on the ground floor of the hospital. The reception is staffed from 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. If you arrive after 18:00, please ring the doorbell and a member of our staff will assist you.

You will receive an invoice for your stay at the hostel.

You may contact Patient travel - Helsenorge for information about travels to and from public treatment facilities. 

Alternative accommodation in Odda

If you have been instructed to have blood tests taken, you can go to the laboratory on the lower ground floor (basement level) at Odda Hospital.

The cafeteria on the 6th floor is available to patients, visitors and staff.

The patient cafeteria on the 4th and 5th floor is only available for patients.

Many of the wards have their own dining rooms with simple self-service available for patients. Please contact your ward for information.

Kiosk

There is a Narvesen kiosk on the ground floor where you can buy food, sweets, magazines and other items.

You can change your appointment up to 48 hours before your scheduled visit. This can be done through helsenorge.no or by contacting us by phone on 52 73 90 00. Our contact centre is open from 07:30 to 15:30. 

On helsenorge.no, you will find information about your appointment in your appointment letter.

Please check in at the reception desk at the main entrance when you arrive. You can pay at the counter or by using Vipps.

The nearest grocery store is Spar Ådland, Olvikvegen 52, 5416 Stord. It is 1.5 kilometers by car, or a 500 meter walk via the pedestrian path behind the ambulance station.

The nearest grocery store is Bunnpris, located 700 metres from the hospital. The address is Hjøllo 1, 5750 Odda.

The multi-storey car park north of the hospital is reserved for patients and visitors. You must pay a fee to park. 

You can pay by cash or card at the parking machines, or by using the EasyPark app.

There is no number plate recognition at the car park. You must start and stop your parking session yourself using the EasyPark app. 

Prices

The parking fee is NOK 25 per hour. The maximum daily rate is NOK 155.

Haugesund Parkering Drift AS is responsible for managing the car park and the parking areas in front of the main entrance. Any complaints regarding parking fees should be directed to them. Information is available on the parking machines.

There are three charging points available for electric vehicles. 

Reserved parking

Reserved spaces for disabled parking are located outside the main entrance. Please remember to place the parking permit clearly visible in the windscreen. 

There are reserved spaces for blood donors and dialysis patients in the multi-storey car park. These are marked with dedicated signs. If you are entitled to use these spaces, you will be issued with a parking permit by the department where you receive treatment.

It is not permitted to take photos or videos of other patients or hospital staff. Photos or videos must not be shared on social media without the consent of those shown. 

We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.

The hospital grounds are smoke-free.

Inpatients who require nicotine products can contact the healthcare staff on their ward.

Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.

Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.

Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.

Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.

Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care. 

Free wireless internet is available for patients, next of kin and visitors.
