Utstående ører, operasjon

Øyrer ser ulike ut frå person til person. Både form og størrelse varierer. Operasjon av utståande øyrer er eit reint kosmetisk inngrep.

I det offentlege helsevesenet er det kun barn og unge opp til 18 år som kan bli vurdert for å få operasjon av øyrer som står langt ut frå hovudet. Personar over 18 år som ønsker ein slik operasjon må oppsøke private klinikkar og får ikkje dette dekka av det offentlege.

Prioriteringsrettleiar - utståande øyrer (Helsedirektoratet)  

Før

Inngrepet blir stort sett gjort som dagbehandling, det vil seie utan at ein treng innlegging i sjukehus. For enkelte kan det bli nødvendig med eit opphald i samband med inngrepet.

Dei fleste pasientar blir operert i narkose. Større barn og ungdomar får tilbod om å gjere inngrepet med lokalbedøving. Pasienten må uansett vere fastande frå mat/drikke/tyggegummi/drops eller anna frå kl 00.00 natta før operasjonen. Du kan drikke klare væsker (saft/vatn) inntil 2 timar før oppmøte. 

Legen som skal operere tar eit bilde av øyrene før operasjonen, og informerer nærare om kva som skal skje under inngrepet. Det er ingen garanti for at operasjonen vil gi heilt symmetriske øyrer.

Under

Det er fleire operasjonsmetodar for utstående øyrer. Vi kan legge eit hudsnitt bak på ytre øyra, og deretter fjerne overskytande hud, eller ha eit skjult hudsnitt på framsida av øyra kor hud ikkje blir fjerna. Øyrebrusken blir slipt og ein syr slik at det blir danna ei krumming på framsida av øyra, som ofte er manglande hos desse pasientane. Til slutt blir det lagt ein relativt stram bandasje rundt hovudet som skal halde øyrene inn til hovudet og hindre bløding etter inngrepet.

Operasjonen tar omlag 45 minuttar for kvart øyre.

Ver merksam

Det oppstår sjeldan komplikasjonar etter eit slikt inngrep. Ver likevel merksam på:

  • Ved blødning må du ta kontakt med lege.
  • Feber og smerte som ikkje avtek etter dei første dagane etter operasjon kan vere teikn på infeksjon. Ta i så fall kontakt med lege for kontroll.
  • Endring i følelsen i øyrene går som regel over, men kan i enkelte tilfelle bli varig.

Praktisk informasjon

Patients who require overnight accommodation can call our contact centre by phone on 52 73 90 00. Please notify us well in advance.

Hospital hostel

We can offer simply furnished rooms in our hostel, located about 50 metres from the hospital. The room has a direct telephone connection to the surgical monitoring station and also includes an extra bed if you are accompanied by a relative.

The hostel has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. If you require an evening meal, this must be brought with you.

Keys can be collected from the reception desk, located next to the main entrance on the ground floor of the hospital. The reception is staffed from 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. If you arrive after 18:00, please ring the doorbell and a member of our staff will assist you.

You will receive an invoice for your stay at the hostel.

You may contact Patient travel - Helsenorge for information about travels to and from public treatment facilities. 

Alternative accommodation in Odda

If you have been instructed to have blood tests taken, you can go to the laboratory on the lower ground floor (basement level) at Odda Hospital.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria on the 6th floor is available to patients, visitors and staff.

Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 15:30. It is closed on weekends and public holidays.

The patient cafeteria on the 4th and 5th floor is only available for patients.

Many of the wards have their own dining rooms with simple self-service available for patients. Please contact your ward for information.

Kiosk

There is a Narvesen kiosk on the ground floor where you can buy food, sweets, magazines and other items.

You can change your appointment up to 48 hours before your scheduled visit. This can be done through helsenorge.no or by contacting us by phone on 52 73 90 00. Our contact centre is open from 07:30 to 15:30. 

On helsenorge.no, you will find information about your appointment in your appointment letter.

Please check in at the reception desk at the main entrance when you arrive. You can pay at the counter or by using Vipps.

The nearest grocery store is Spar Ådland, Olvikvegen 52, 5416 Stord. It is 1.5 kilometers by car, or a 500 meter walk via the pedestrian path behind the ambulance station.

The nearest grocery store is Bunnpris, located 700 metres from the hospital. The address is Hjøllo 1, 5750 Odda.

The multi-storey car park north of the hospital is reserved for patients and visitors. You must pay a fee to park. 

You can pay by cash or card at the parking machines, or by using the EasyPark app.

There is no number plate recognition at the car park. You must start and stop your parking session yourself using the EasyPark app. 

Prices

The parking fee is NOK 25 per hour. The maximum daily rate is NOK 155.

Haugesund Parkering Drift AS is responsible for managing the car park and the parking areas in front of the main entrance. Any complaints regarding parking fees should be directed to them. Information is available on the parking machines.

There are three charging points available for electric vehicles. 

Reserved parking

Reserved spaces for disabled parking are located outside the main entrance. Please remember to place the parking permit clearly visible in the windscreen. 

There are reserved spaces for blood donors and dialysis patients in the multi-storey car park. These are marked with dedicated signs. If you are entitled to use these spaces, you will be issued with a parking permit by the department where you receive treatment.

There is no public pharmacy at the hospital, but there are several pharmacies in and around Leirvik town centre.

The pharmacy is located on the ground floor, in the corridor past the reception desk.

It is not permitted to take photos or videos of other patients or hospital staff. Photos or videos must not be shared on social media without the consent of those shown. 

We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.

The hospital grounds are smoke-free.

Inpatients who require nicotine products can contact the healthcare staff on their ward.

Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.

Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.

Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.

Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.

Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care. 

Free wireless internet is available for patients, next of kin and visitors.
