Neonatal intensive Care Unit (NICU)

We treat newborn babies who need extra observation or treatment beyond what the maternity ward can provide. Premature babies born between 28 and 35 weeks of pregnancy are always admitted to our unit.

Newborns who are sick or have temporary health issues may be admitted to our unit. This can include babies with infections, syndromes, feeding problems, or babies born to mothers with substance abuse issues.

Additionally, we treat children under six months who need more care than what the pediatric department can offer. This may include respiratory infections where the baby requires breathing support. These children are admitted to the isolation unit in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Some children are only admitted for a short time, perhaps just a few hours, while others stay for days, weeks, or even months.
