The operating theatre nurse

There is a strong continuity among staff in the operating department at Haugesund Hospital. That is a good thing in many ways.

It's anything but quiet. The theatres are running at full capacity. And now we need more operating theatre nurses.

The operating department at Haugesund Hospital has a high activity level. Working there is never dull. It may sound like a cliché – but it's simply true.

People thrive here, and they stay for a long time. As a newcomer, you will be warmly welcomed – we promise. Everyone contributes, and everyone is truly valued.

We carry out a wide range of surgical procedures. You never know what the day will bring. It might be a caesarean section, or perhaps a fractured femur.

As part of our team, you will take part in a great variety of cases – and learn a great variety of skills. You will become competent across many areas. And when no two days are the same, things never become boring.

A truly exciting role with a team of exceptional colleagues

In our team, you will be one of two operating theatre nurses, making you an important part of it. Does that sound daunting? Not at all – you will have many skilled and experienced colleagues supporting you.

Your workday with us

The department consists of two main sections: one covering orthopaedics, vascular surgery and ENT, and other covering gastroenterology, gynaecology and urology.

We run day surgery five days a week. The central operating unit works in a three-shift rotation, with work every fourth weekend. During the afternoon and evening, the department has one on-call team for each shift.

In the team, you will be one of two operating threatre nurses, which makes your role important.

Does that sound daunting? Not at all – you will be supported by many skilled and experienced colleagues.

And do you remember that we mentioned our colleagues tend to stay? That gives both you and us a sense of stability.

Regardless of the tasks you have, you will also work closely with our excellent colleagues in anaesthesia.

When we're not at work, we sometimes enjoy doing things together – such as Christmas or summer gatherings, or other activities.

In any case, we would like you to get in touch with us. You may be exactly the person we are looking for.
