Medikamentell behandling ved depresjon

Medikamentell behandling med antidepressiv kan vere til god hjelp mot depresjon. Antidepressiv blir brukt mot ei rekke plager. Det finst ulike typar medisinar ein kan bruke.

Antidepressiv kan hjelpe mot alle typar depresjon og bli brukt hovudsakleg ved moderat til alvorleg depresjon. Det er små forskjellar i effekt mellom dei ulike typane antidepressiv, men enkelte personar kan oppleve biverknader med ein type preparat, men ikkje med ein annan. 

Antidepressiv gir ikkje ein avhengnad med behov for stadig større doser, som ein del andre medikament. Det kan ta 2–6 veker eller meir før forventa effekt. Dette er fordi det i mange tilfelle tar tid å trappe opp til ein dekkande dose.


Før

Før oppstart av medikamentell behandling kartlegg vi kva medikament du eventuelt bruker eller har brukt tidlegare. Du vil få informasjon om biverknader og om kor lenge behandlinga er forventa å halde på.

Under

Vi vil saman vurdere om du faktisk blir betre av medisineringa. Omtrent to veker etter oppstart av behandlinga blir du innkalla til oss for oppfølging.

Nokre gonger kan det vere behov for å bytte til eit anna preparat, på grunn av manglande effekt eller på grunn av biverknader. Dersom du skal slutte med medikamentet, er det viktig at dette blir gjennomført i samråd med oss. Dette er fordi det er viktig at nedtrappinga skjer gradvis for å unngå potensielt uønska symptom.

Etter

Når vi saman har funne ein effektiv medisin mot depresjonssymptoma dine, bør du bruke den over ei viss tid. 

Etter tre til seks månader utan depressive symptom kan vi saman begynne å vurdere moglegheitene for å slutte med medikamentet. Doseringa bør i så fall gradvis bli trappa ned, i samråd med oss. Nokre gonger kan denne nedtrappinga ta opptil fleire månader, for å unngå biverknader.

    There is no pharmacy at the hospital. The nearest pharmacy is located in Husnes. SPAR Valen sells a limited range of over-the-counter medicines.

    We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.

    The cafeteria is open Monday to Thursday from 11:30 to 12:30. It is closed on Fridays.

    Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.

    Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.

    Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.

    Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.

    Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care. 

    Parking for patients and visitors is centrally located on the hospital grounds. Parking is free of charge.

    The car park has two electric vehicle charging points.

    Inpatients who require nicotine products can contact the healthcare staff on their ward.

    There is a bus stop close to Haugaland DPS in Haugesund. Search for the stop called "Lysskar" in the journey planner.

    You can find route information at Kolumbus AS - public transport in Rogaland.

    There is free parking for patients and visitors directly outside the building. All marked spaces can be used. Parking is free of charge.

    The multi-storey car park north of the hospital is reserved for patients and visitors. You must pay a fee to park. 

    You can pay by cash or card at the parking machines, or by using the EasyPark app.

    There is no number plate recognition at the car park. You must start and stop your parking session yourself using the EasyPark app. 

    Prices

    The parking fee is NOK 25 per hour. The maximum daily rate is NOK 155.

    Haugesund Parkering Drift AS is responsible for managing the car park and the parking areas in front of the main entrance. Any complaints regarding parking fees should be directed to them. Information is available on the parking machines.

    Electric vehicle charging

    There are three charging points available for electric vehicles. 

    Reserved parking

    Reserved spaces for disabled parking are located outside the main entrance. Please remember to place the parking permit clearly visible in the windscreen. 

    There are reserved spaces for blood donors and dialysis patients in the multi-storey car park. These are marked with dedicated signs. If you are entitled to use these spaces, you will be issued with a parking permit by the department where you receive treatment.

    There is no public pharmacy at the hospital, but there are several pharmacies in and around Leirvik town centre.

    The nearest grocery store is Spar Ådland, Olvikvegen 52, 5416 Stord. It is 1.5 kilometers by car, or a 500 meter walk via the pedestrian path behind the ambulance station.
