Øre, nese- og halsundersøking
Ein undersøking hos øyre, nase og halslege blir gjennomført for å sjå om det er teikn til sjukdom i overflata på innsida av halsen, og for å sjå om nervar og musklar i dette området fungerer som dei skal.
Før
Undersøkinga krever ingen førebuingar.
Under
Når undersøkinga blir gjennomført, sit du i ein undersøkingsstol mens legen sit rett overfor deg. Legen vil først undersøke heile munnhola ved å sjå på tunga, munngolvet, innsida av kinna og øvste del av halsen med ein tungespatel (flat pinne) som trykker tunga ned. Deretter blir ytre del av nasen undersøkt, ofte ved hjelp av eit fleksibelt skop (tynt røyr med kamera i enden). Skopet blir ført gjennom nasen til svelget, slik at legen kan undersøke resten av svelget og strupen. I nase-/biholeområdet kan det vere aktuelt å bruke eit rett/stivt skop.
Til slutt vil legen bruke hendene for å undersøke utsida av halsen din. Øyrene blir inspisert med øyremikroskop gjennom ei metalltrakt.
Dersom du treng lokalbedøving undervegs, vil legen spraye den på overflatene som skal bli undersøkt, eller dynke den på bomullsstrimlar og legge dei inn i nasen din.
Gjer det vondt?
Undersøkinga gjør ikkje vondt. Ved behov kan du få lokalbedøving. Dette gjeld spesielt ved undersøking av nasen eller av strupen.
Etter
Du treng ikkje ta nokre spesielle forholdsreglar etterpå, og du kan reise heim med ein gong. Dersom lokalbedøving er spraya i svelget, bør du unngå å drikke eller ete til god sensibilitet (følelse) i svelget har komme tilbake. Dette kan ta nokre timar.
Når får du resultatet?
Legen vil gi deg svar på resultatet av undersøkinga straks den er ferdig.
Haugesund: ØNH-avdelinga og høyrselsentralen held til i 1. etasje ved Haugesund sjukehus. Bruk hovudinngangen og gå forbi resepsjonen og sjukehusapoteket. Du finn oss i enden av korridoren.
Stord: Høyrselsentralen ligg i 1. etasje i den kvite bygningen ved sida av hovudbygget.
Odda: ØNH-poliklinikken ligg i 1. etasje på Odda sjukehus. Poliklinikken har eige venterom.
Ved tilpassing av høyreapparat, anbefaler vi at pasienten har med seg følge/pårørande.
Kystbussen has a terminal in Leirvik town centre. See NOR-WAY Bussekspress | Kystbussen for route information. From there, local busses run to the hospital and the DPS. Further information about local bus timetables is available at Skyss.no/en.

Patients who require overnight accommodation can call our contact centre by phone on 52 73 90 00. Please notify us well in advance.
Hospital hostel
We can offer simply furnished rooms in our hostel, located about 50 metres from the hospital. The room has a direct telephone connection to the surgical monitoring station and also includes an extra bed if you are accompanied by a relative.
The hostel has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. If you require an evening meal, this must be brought with you.
Keys can be collected from the reception desk, located next to the main entrance on the ground floor of the hospital. The reception is staffed from 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. If you arrive after 18:00, please ring the doorbell and a member of our staff will assist you.
You will receive an invoice for your stay at the hostel.

You can change your appointment up to 48 hours before your scheduled visit. This can be done through helsenorge.no or by contacting us by phone on 52 73 90 00. Our contact centre is open from 07:30 to 15:30.

Please check in at the reception desk at the main entrance when you arrive. You can pay at the counter or by using Vipps.
The nearest grocery store is Spar Ådland, Olvikvegen 52, 5416 Stord. It is 1.5 kilometers by car, or a 500 meter walk via the pedestrian path behind the ambulance station.
The nearest grocery store is Bunnpris, located 700 metres from the hospital. The address is Hjøllo 1, 5750 Odda.
The multi-storey car park north of the hospital is reserved for patients and visitors. You must pay a fee to park.
You can pay by cash or card at the parking machines, or by using the EasyPark app.
There is no number plate recognition at the car park. You must start and stop your parking session yourself using the EasyPark app.
Prices
The parking fee is NOK 25 per hour. The maximum daily rate is NOK 155.
Haugesund Parkering Drift AS is responsible for managing the car park and the parking areas in front of the main entrance. Any complaints regarding parking fees should be directed to them. Information is available on the parking machines.

There are three charging points available for electric vehicles.
Reserved parking
Reserved spaces for disabled parking are located outside the main entrance. Please remember to place the parking permit clearly visible in the windscreen.
There are reserved spaces for blood donors and dialysis patients in the multi-storey car park. These are marked with dedicated signs. If you are entitled to use these spaces, you will be issued with a parking permit by the department where you receive treatment.

Parking for patients and visitors is located close to the hospital. You must pay a fee to park.
The car park uses automatic number plate recognition. You will receive an invoice from ParkPay after exiting.

You may drive up to the main entrance to drop off passengers if needed.
Reserved parking spaces are available near the main entrance.
Dialysis patients
Dialysis patients have free parking. Please inform dialysis staff on arrival to be registered.
There is no public pharmacy at the hospital, but there are several pharmacies in and around Leirvik town centre.
The pharmacy is located on the ground floor, in the corridor past the reception desk.
Opening hours
Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30.
It is not permitted to take photos or videos of other patients or hospital staff. Photos or videos must not be shared on social media without the consent of those shown.
We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.
The hospital grounds are smoke-free.
Inpatients who require nicotine products can contact the healthcare staff on their ward.

Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.
Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.
Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.
Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.
Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care.
Free wireless internet is available for patients, next of kin and visitors.
