Polyppar i stemmebandet, operasjon

Pasientar som har hevelsar på stemmebanda, er plaga med håsheit. Hevelsane på stemmebanda kan vere polyppar, cystar, "songarknutar" eller hevelsar forårsaka av røyking (ødem).

Kva skal skje?

Dei fleste blir opererte dagkirurgisk, det vil seie at du dreg heim same dag som operasjonen. Ved meir omfattande inngrep blir du liggjande på sjukehuset til dagen etter operasjonen. Dette blir avtalt på førehand.

Faste

Før operasjonen/undersøkinga må du faste. Dersom du ikkje møter fastande, kan det hende vi må avlyse eller utsetje timen.

Dei siste 6 timane før operasjon/undersøking skal du ikkje ete mat eller drikke mjølk/mjølkeprodukt. Barn kan få morsmjølkerstatning inntil 4 timar før operasjon/undersøking, og morsmjølk inntil 3 timar før. Dei siste 2 timane skal du unngå tyggegummi, drops, snus og røyk, fordi dette kan auke mageinnhald og magesyre.

Fram til 2 timar før operasjon/undersøking kan vaksne drikke klare væsker. Barn kan drikke klare væsker fram til 1 time før. Klare væsker er: Vatn, saft, juice utan fruktkjøt, brus, te og kaffi utan mjølk. Alle kan svelge medisinar med eit lite glas vatn inntil 1 time før. Du kan pusse tenner og skylje munnen når som helst.

  • Mat og mjølk/mjølkeprodukt: Skal stoppast 6 timar før
  • Klare væsker, tyggegummi, drops, snus og røyk: Skal stoppast 2 timar før
  • Klare væsker, barn: Skal stoppast 1 time før

Dersom du likevel har ete eller drukke utanom dei tidene som står her må personalet få vite det. Før enkelte inngrep skal du drikke ein bestemt mengde næringsdrikk. Det får du i så fall beskjed om.

Kva skjer operasjonsdagen?

Du må vere førebudd på at det kan bli noko ventetid før og etter operasjonen. Ta gjerne med lesestoff, musikk eller liknande.

Ved oppmøte blir du teken imot av sjukepleiar. Du vil få snakke med anestesilege og kirurgen som skal operere deg.

Ved inngrep på stemmebanda kan det oppstå ei stor belastning på fortenner når ein fører ned røyret som blir brukt til å sjå i halsen under operasjonen. Det er viktig at du før operasjonen seier frå til kirurgen og anestesilegen dersom du har lause tenner/implantat.

Operasjonen blir utført i narkose, det vil seie at du søv under operasjonen.

Etter

Du blir på overvakingsavdelinga så lenge det er behov for det. Du får ete når du er klar for det. Før du reiser heim vil du få snakke med sjukepleiar og kirurg. Du får med deg resept på smertestillande og sjukmelding dersom det er behov for det. Operasjonsbeskrivinga finn du på helsenoreg.no

Når du har kome heim

Smerter

Det er vanlegvis lite smerter etter operasjonen. Du kan vere litt sår i halsen dei første dagane. Ved behov for smertestillande kan du bruke paracetamol. Sørg for å ha paracetamol heime etter operasjonen, følg tilrådd dosering som står på pakken.

Mat

Du kan ete og drikke som normalt.

Aktivitet

Du bør unngå hard fysisk aktivitet dei første dagane etter operasjonen.

Forholdsreglar

Dei første 6 – 7 dagane etter operasjonen skal du vere stille og ikkje bruke stemma, du skal unngå kremting/harking.

Dersom du skulle få luftvegsinfeksjonar og hoste bør du få hostedempande medisinar, eventuelt antibiotika.

Sjukmelding

Dersom du har eit yrke med mykje stemmebelasting blir du sjukmeld i cirka 14 dagar, eventuelt lenger. Songarar og skodespelarar og andre med liknande profesjon kan ha behov for sjukmelding i 4-8 veker. Dersom du har eit yrke der stemmebelastinga er liten, treng du sjukmelding berre nokre få dagar. Dersom du er student/skuleelev kan du gå på forelesing dagen etter operasjonen dersom du unngår å bruke stemma.

Kontroll/oppfølging

Dei fleste som blir opererte på stemmebanda vil bli tilviste til logoped (talepedagog). Tilvising til logoped blir rekvirert av kirurg.

Kirurgen avgjer i kvart tilfelle om kontroll etter operasjonen er nødvendig. Vanlegvis er dette etter 6-12 veker. Ved forverring av tilstanden må du ta kontakt med fastlegen din for å få ny tilvising.

Feber

Dei første dagane etter operasjonen kan du få lett temperaturstigning. Dette er normalt.

Komplikasjonar

Ved alle kirurgiske inngrep kan det oppstå komplikasjonar, den vanlegaste er infeksjon.

Teikn på infeksjon kan vere:

Sjukdomskjensle, feber og aukande smerter i halsen.

Ta kontakt med sjukehuset dersom du har vedvarande feber over 38 – 38,5 gradar etter operasjonen eller mistenkjer at du har fått ein infeksjon.

Oppmøtestad

Haugesund: ØNH-avdelinga og høyrselsentralen held til i 1. etasje ved Haugesund sjukehus. Bruk hovudinngangen og gå forbi resepsjonen og sjukehusapoteket. Du finn oss i enden av korridoren.

Stord: Høyrselsentralen ligg i 1. etasje i den kvite bygningen ved sida av hovudbygget.

Odda: ØNH-poliklinikken ligg i 1. etasje på Odda sjukehus. Poliklinikken har eige venterom.

Ved tilpassing av høyreapparat, anbefaler vi at pasienten har med seg følge/pårørande.

Praktisk informasjon

Patients who require overnight accommodation can call our contact centre by phone on 52 73 90 00. Please notify us well in advance.

Hospital hostel

We can offer simply furnished rooms in our hostel, located about 50 metres from the hospital. The room has a direct telephone connection to the surgical monitoring station and also includes an extra bed if you are accompanied by a relative.

The hostel has shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. If you require an evening meal, this must be brought with you.

Keys can be collected from the reception desk, located next to the main entrance on the ground floor of the hospital. The reception is staffed from 07:30 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. If you arrive after 18:00, please ring the doorbell and a member of our staff will assist you.

You will receive an invoice for your stay at the hostel.

You may contact Patient travel - Helsenorge for information about travels to and from public treatment facilities. 

Alternative accommodation in Odda

If you have been instructed to have blood tests taken, you can go to the laboratory on the lower ground floor (basement level) at Odda Hospital.

Some patients are prioritised for blood sampling, and we ask for your understanding.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria on the 6th floor is available to patients, visitors and staff.

Opening hours

Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 15:30. It is closed on weekends and public holidays.

The patient cafeteria on the 4th and 5th floor is only available for patients.

Many of the wards have their own dining rooms with simple self-service available for patients. Please contact your ward for information.

Kiosk

There is a Narvesen kiosk on the ground floor where you can buy food, sweets, magazines and other items.

You can change your appointment up to 48 hours before your scheduled visit. This can be done through helsenorge.no or by contacting us by phone on 52 73 90 00. Our contact centre is open from 07:30 to 15:30. 

On helsenorge.no, you will find information about your appointment in your appointment letter.

Please check in at the reception desk at the main entrance when you arrive. You can pay at the counter or by using Vipps.

The nearest grocery store is Spar Ådland, Olvikvegen 52, 5416 Stord. It is 1.5 kilometers by car, or a 500 meter walk via the pedestrian path behind the ambulance station.

The nearest grocery store is Bunnpris, located 700 metres from the hospital. The address is Hjøllo 1, 5750 Odda.

The multi-storey car park north of the hospital is reserved for patients and visitors. You must pay a fee to park. 

You can pay by cash or card at the parking machines, or by using the EasyPark app.

There is no number plate recognition at the car park. You must start and stop your parking session yourself using the EasyPark app. 

Prices

The parking fee is NOK 25 per hour. The maximum daily rate is NOK 155.

Haugesund Parkering Drift AS is responsible for managing the car park and the parking areas in front of the main entrance. Any complaints regarding parking fees should be directed to them. Information is available on the parking machines.

There are three charging points available for electric vehicles. 

Reserved parking

Reserved spaces for disabled parking are located outside the main entrance. Please remember to place the parking permit clearly visible in the windscreen. 

There are reserved spaces for blood donors and dialysis patients in the multi-storey car park. These are marked with dedicated signs. If you are entitled to use these spaces, you will be issued with a parking permit by the department where you receive treatment.

  • East side / rear, near the river or the eye clinic

  • The car park uses automatic number plate recognition. You will receive an invoice from ParkPay after exiting.

There is no public pharmacy at the hospital, but there are several pharmacies in and around Leirvik town centre.

The pharmacy is located on the ground floor, in the corridor past the reception desk.

Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30.

 

It is not permitted to take photos or videos of other patients or hospital staff. Photos or videos must not be shared on social media without the consent of those shown. 

We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.

The hospital grounds are smoke-free.

Inpatients who require nicotine products can contact the healthcare staff on their ward.

Monday-Sunday: 17:00-18:30

Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.

Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.

Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.

Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.

Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care. 

Free wireless internet is available for patients, next of kin and visitors.
