Tennis- og golfolboge

Tennis- eller golfolboge kan du få på grunn av fleire, einsformige rørsler, gjerne over fleire år. Smertene kjem ofte snikande over tid. For dei fleste vil behandlinga vere rettleiing i trening og tøyingar hos fysioterapeut.

Symptom

Dei vanlegaste diagnosane er relaterte til sener og muskulatur. Av desse er «tennisolboge», smertar på utsida av olbogen, vanlegast. Andre plager er «golfolboge»/smerter på innsida av olbogen, og muskulære smerter i underarmen. I nokre tilfelle er det nødvendig med supplerande undersøkingar som ultralyd, røntgen eller MR.

Før

Er du vist for olbogeplager vil du bli innkalla til ein poliklinisk konsultasjon hos lege. Det krevst ingen førebuingar til denne konsultasjonen.

Under

Legen vil vanlegvis undersøkje hand/handledd, skulder og nakke i tillegg til olbogen fordi smerter og funksjonsproblem ofte involverer fleire kroppsområde. Den kliniske undersøkinga med testing av rørsle, muskelstyrke og spesifikke testar vil som regel vere tilstrekkelege for å stille ein diagnose.

Olbogeplager med utgangspunkt i sene/muskelapparatet blir behandla med informasjon og råd i forhold til arbeid og aktivitetar, blautdelsbehandling, øvingsbehandling og tøyingar.

I akuttfasen kan det hjelpe med betennelsesdempande medisinar for å redusere smerter. Ved smerter på utsida og innsida av olbogen vil trening av styrke og uthald vere sentralt og det trengst stor grad av eigeninnsats.

Av og til er det aktuelt å konferere med ortoped med tanke på operasjon, men for dei fleste er behandlinga rettleiing i trening og tøyingar hos fysioterapeut lokalt.

Etter

Dei fleste blir bra og vanlegvis krevst det inga oppfølging i spesialisthelsetenesta.

Rehabiliteringsdøgnposten er i 3.etasje i hovudbygget til Stord sjukehus.
Fysikalsk medisinsk og rehabiliteringspoliklinikk held til i 1.etasje i gamle administrasjonsbygning (kvit trebygning).

Terapeuttenestane nytter trenings- og behandlingslokaler i 1.etasje i den kvite murbygningen til høgre for sjukehuset sin hovudinngang. Her finn du òg basseng.

Praktisk informasjon

There is no public pharmacy at the hospital, but there are several pharmacies in and around Leirvik town centre.

The nearest grocery store is Spar Ådland, Olvikvegen 52, 5416 Stord. It is 1.5 kilometers by car, or a 500 meter walk via the pedestrian path behind the ambulance station.

It is not permitted to take photos or videos of other patients or hospital staff. Photos or videos must not be shared on social media without the consent of those shown. 

We ask that you respect the privacy of everyone you encounter during your stay at the hospital, and that you only take photos or videos of your own family and friends.

Cafeteria

The public cafeteria is located on the lower ground floor.

Opening hours

Monday-Friday: 11:00-14:00.

It is closed at weekends and on public holidays.

Please bring any regular medication you take. It may take some time to obtain the same medication from the pharmacy.

Please leave valuables at home. Theft can occur in hospitals.

Bring comfortable clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear. Walking barefoot is not permitted due to hygienic reasons.

Bring toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, a comb, deodorant and, if needed, an electric shaver. Also bring assistive devices you depend on, for example a walking stick, crutches, wheelchair etc.

Good hygiene is an important factor in ensuring patients receive good care. 

Parking

  • Parking for patients and visitors is located close to the hospital. You must pay a fee to park. 
  • The car park uses automatic number plate recognition. You will receive an invoice from ParkPay after exiting.

  • Maximum per day: NOK 155

You may drive up to the main entrance to drop off passengers if needed.

Blood donors

Reserved parking spaces are available near the main entrance.

Dialysis patients

Dialysis patients have free parking. Please inform dialysis staff on arrival to be registered.

The hospital grounds are smoke-free.

Inpatients who require nicotine products can contact the healthcare staff on their ward.
